Vintage Dough Bin

This stunning dough bin, or kneading trough is beautifully carved and would have been used for proofing bread dough, easier to use than a bowl. Bread was an important staple food in many families, not just medieval folk but 19th century middle class too. The flour needed to be warm in colder months if it had come from a barn or cellar so the bins were perfect for this job. Dimensions : 31 ¾ " L x 13 ¼" W x 6" H
